Educators have long considered mixed-age groupings beneficial, and Music Together® is designed with this in mind because it speaks directly to our program’s philosophy. Take away the idea of the age-delineated classroom and you take away the expectations that come with it. Our Mixed-Age Family Class encourages ALL children to participate, process, and experiment with music in whatever way is developmentally appropriate for them. It is a highly effective learning dynamic because it allows every child to personally create their own musical challenges and therefore their own successes. What a great kind of magic when you can empower a child to believe that there is nothing musical that he or she can’t do!

Music Together^®’s research has recognized that one of the key elements to ensuring your child remains a confident music-maker for the rest of their life is to keep them in an informal group music-making setting. The Music Together "Rhythm Kids^®" Class is designed with this in mind! We immerse your child in a creative, judgement and pressure-free classroom that coaxes their strong music-maker to come out and play! Your child will being having so much fun exploring basic hand-drumming techniques, rhythmic instruments, musical games and activities that encourage both individual expression and group interaction that they won't even notice that they're being introduced to important musical concepts that will form a solid foundation to build on so they can be MUSICALLY CONFIDENT forever! This is your child's SAFE MUSICAL SPACE to sing, dance, move, learn, play, make music, make memories, and make friends! 

• The purchase of a child's djembe drum is not mandatory but is highly recommended for this class (you are given the option to purchase one at registration check-out)
• This is an unparented class up until the final 20 minutes when parents will be asked to join in
